Scheduled Weekly Hours:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician I to join our team at Emplify Health by Gundersen. The ideal candidate will assist optometrists in providing high-quality patient care, performing various diagnostic tests, and ensuring a smooth workflow in the clinic.

No vision or eye experience needed. All training for this role will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform preliminary tests, including visual acuity, tonometry, and other diagnostic assessments.
• Maintain and prepare examination rooms and equipment.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
• Educate patients on eye care and post-operative instructions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.

What you will do:

• Work 40 hours; Monday - Friday. No Weekends or Holidays
• Hours are between 7:30a-5:00p
• Locations: Black River Falls and Tomah
• Opportunity to travel to assist at all Gundersen optical locations
• Provide a quality optical experience to our patients and guests

Schedule Example:

• Week 1 Monday/Tuesday 8:00a-5:00p, Black River Falls

• Week 1 Wednesday 8:00a-5:00p, Tomah
• Week 1 Thursday/Friday 8:00a-5:00p, Black River Falls
• Week 2 Monday/Tuesday 8:00a-5:00p, Black River Falls
• Week 2 Wednesday 8:00a-5:00p, Tomah
• Week 2 Thursday/Friday 8:00a-5:00p, Black River Falls

What you will need:

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 2 years of patient/customer service experience
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certified by JCAHPO within 18 months of hire
