About the Role 

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Farm Mechanic Technician to support all equipment and mechanical operations across our Arizona farms. In this hands-on role, you will play a key part in maintaining, repairing, and improving the performance of a wide variety of farming equipment—from tractors and harvesters to irrigation components and utility vehicles. 

You’ll also help keep our farm shop organized and well-stocked, implement a preventive maintenance program, and work closely with the Farm Manager and broader crew to ensure maximum equipment uptime during planting, growing, and harvest seasons. This position requires travel to other PGH farm locations in California, Arizona, and Minnesota to perform equipment service and support as needed. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Preventive Maintenance & Repairs 

  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance (PM) schedule for all farm equipment and farm land infrastructure. 
  • Perform routine inspections, servicing, and mechanical repairs on tractors, trucks, harvesters, sprayers, and other farm machinery.  (All farm equipment) 
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and perform timely repairs. 
  • Document all maintenance activities and parts used using Fiix software. 
  • Coordinate with vendors for parts ordering and off-site repairs when needed. 

Irrigation System Support 

  • Assist with irrigation system maintenance, including pumps, motors, valves, and piping. 
  • Gain working knowledge of irrigation components and support seasonal system checks and repairs. 

Equipment Operation & Safety 

  • Safely operate various types of farm equipment and vehicles (e.g., loaders, forklifts, ATVs). 
  • Learn new machinery and technology as it is introduced to the farm. 
  • Conduct pre-operation checks and maintain safety standards at all times. 

Shop Organization & Inventory Keep the farm shop clean, stocked, and functional. 

  • Manage inventory of tools, parts, and consumables. 
  • Recommend and request supplies to ensure availability during critical operations. 

Team Collaboration 

  • Work closely with the Farm Manager(s) and other crew members to complete repairs within required timeframes. 
  • Support planting, growing, and harvest operations through timely mechanical support. 
  • Help train seasonal team members on safe equipment use as needed. 

 

Travel Requirement 

This position involves travel to PGH farm sites in California, and Minnesota. Travel is typically seasonal or project-based and aligned with operational needs such as planting, harvesting, or equipment upgrades. Travel-related expenses are covered per company policy. A valid driver’s license is required, and overnight stays will be necessary. 

 

Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably in an agricultural or heavy equipment setting. 
  • Hands-on experience working with Lockwood, Spudnik, Miedema, and Logan farm equipment 
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. 
  • Familiarity with Fiix or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) a plus. 
  • Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment safely and effectively. 
  • Capable of working in outdoor conditions and lifting up to 75 lbs. 
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 
  • Bilingual English - Spanish

 

Compensation 

  • $75,000.00 - $95,000 (DOE) 
  • 10 days of PTO and 9 company holidays  
  • Vehicle to use from headquarters to farm activities and part trips.
