Maintenance Technician

Universe Living is looking for an energetic, results-oriented, superstar to fill its MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN position. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record and a minimum of 2 years of Make-Ready/Maintenance Technician apartment maintenance experience.

Individual must have experience in all trades and be very customer service-focused. Some duties will include cleaning grounds, offices, common areas, completing maintenance service requests, appliance repairs, painting, plumbing repairs, apartment turnovers, renovations, taking emergency calls and more!

Essential Functions:

• Report to the Community Manager each morning to communicate the daily needs of the property and receive daily assignments.
• Taking lead on preparing market-ready units.
  
• Routinely walks the property and reports any observed problems on the property or in common areas.
• Maintains the buildings and breezeways to be free from trash and cobwebs.  Cleaning of all common areas, model units, amenities and maintaining of compactor area to be free from debris.
  
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment to keep the interior of the buildings looking clean and professional.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks based on a schedule created by the Community Manager, if applicable.
  
• Properly performs casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items and following appropriate safety procedures.
  
• Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.  Ensures all safety precautions are followed while performing work.
  
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred. 
  
• Be able to communicate well and often through email, phone, and our online platform.
•  2 years of Make-Ready/Maintenance Tech apartment maintenance experience.
• Must be able to operate tools and equipment related to facility maintenance.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures
• Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. occasionally to complete assigned job tasks
