The Arc of Ocean County is seeking compassionate and dependable Program Assistants to provide direct support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in residential programs throughout Ocean County. This role focuses on promoting independence, safety, daily living skills, and meaningful community involvement in a supportive home environment.
Flexible scheduling options are available, with both full-time and part-time evening opportunities currently open across multiple residential locations including Brick, Barnegat, Toms River, Lakewood, Jackson, Lacey Township, and Beachwood.
Position Details- Employment Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available
- Schedule: Evening Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Weekend availability required
- Pay Range: $20.20 – $24.20 per hour
- Bi-weekly pay schedule
- Opportunities for shift differentials and overtime available
- Provide direct care and support within residential group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living settings.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living including hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, medication administration, and household responsibilities.
- Support individuals in achieving greater independence, community participation, and personal goal development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful living environment for all residents.
- Complete required electronic documentation, communication logs, and other program records accurately and on time.
- Provide individualized support based on each resident’s personal, medical, behavioral, and daily living needs.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, healthcare professionals, and family members to ensure quality care and consistency of support.
- Encourage dignity, choice, and person-centered services in all aspects of care.
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is welcomed but not required. Paid training is provided to all new hires.
Qualifications- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing required, with no more than five (5) points.
- Demonstrated work history and employment stability preferred, including at least one (1) year with a previous employer.
- Must be able to successfully complete all required background checks, screenings, and agency onboarding requirements.
