WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Inventory Control, Auditing & Reconciliation
- Cycle Counts & Audits: Perform daily, weekly, and full inventory cycle counts to ensure physical stock aligns precisely with system inventory records.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Receive, investigate, and resolve stock discrepancies, transaction errors, out-of-stock delays, and mis-shipments reported by Operations, Customer Service, or Purchasing.
- System Reconciliation: Run inventory analyses to troubleshoot root causes, reconcile item balances, and document stock adjustments in the WMS/ERP system.
- Reporting & Policy Continuous Improvement: Generate regular stock status and variance reports for management; actively assist in developing and refining policies to optimize warehouse inventory accuracy.
- Shipping & Multi-Facility Logistics
- Multi-Facility Coordination: Oversee cross-facility inventory transactions, inter-company stock transfers, and multi-site warehouse logistics to balance inventory levels.
- Drop Shipments & Invoicing: Coordinate drop-ship orders directly with vendors and customers, track fulfillment status, and process accurate drop-ship invoicing.
- Shipping & Documentation: Generate Bills of Lading (BOL), packing slips, and shipping labels; schedule pickups; and liaise with parcel and freight carriers (e.g., UPS, FedEx, LTL).
- Receiving & Procurement Support
- Receiving Verification: Assist with receiving incoming deliveries, inspecting incoming materials, verifying physical quantities against purchase orders, and routing items to proper staging or storage locations.
- Past-Due Pipeline Tracking: Monitor open purchase orders, proactively communicate with vendors and purchasing teams to track past-due receipts, and update estimated delivery dates.
- General Warehouse Operations & Safety
- Warehouse & Material Movement: Perform general warehouse duties as needed, including material staging, order retrieval, and routine warehouse housekeeping.
- Safety & PPE Compliance: Adhere strictly to company safety protocols and OSHA standards. Maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hard-toed shoes, gloves, and fall protection harnesses when working at elevated heights.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- 3 years of experience in inventory control, warehousing, shipping/receiving, or multi-facility logistics.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Software: Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word). Experience with JD Edwards ERP System or another ERP System highly preferred.
- Logistics & Carrier Portals: Experience managing carrier web portals, creating shipping documents (BOLs, labels), and processing drop-ship transactions.
- Problem Solving & Math: Solid basic mathematical skills for accurate count reconciliation and inventory calculations; strong group problem-solving skills to resolve transactional bottlenecks.
- Communication & Reasoning: Ability to understand and comply with complex written/verbal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and collaborate effectively across departments (Customer Service, Purchasing, Operations).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands
- Lifting: Regularly required to lift and move up to 25–50 pounds independently; team lifting required for items exceeding 50 pounds.
- Movement: Frequent standing and walking for extended shifts (8+ hours). Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching overhead, balancing, and climbing stairs or ladders to access high storage areas.
- Equipment & Handling: Pushing/pulling carts and pallet jacks; operating equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyor systems) subject to certification. Continuous use of hands for detailed handling, scanning, and packaging.
- Vision: Close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment capabilities required.
Work Environment
- Standard manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to moderate-to-loud noise levels, dust, and temperature fluctuations (hot or cold conditions).
- Occasional work in elevated or high, precarious locations requiring fall protection equipment.
