Buffalo Biodiesel Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking a Trailer Mechanic to support our shop operations and ensure our vehicles remain safe, reliable, and compliant.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair brake systems, suspension components, lighting, hydraulic systems, etc. on semi-trailers, flatbeds, dry vans, and specialty trailers
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential issues before they become major problems
- Perform Federal DOT inspections ensuring trailers meet safety regulations and maintaining accurate documentation
- Maintain detailed work orders, parts usage, and repair logs for fleet management and regulatory compliance
- Ensure shop safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or community college courses in automotive technology or related fields is preferred
- 3+ years' experience as a Trailer Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician
- Strong knowledge of commercial trailer systems, including air brakes, electrical, and suspensionÂ
- Ability to diagnose issues independently and complete repairs with minimal supervision
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required
- Maintain a drug-free lifestyle (BBD complies with the Federal Drug-Free Workplace Act)
