The Big Task
The Production and Installation Supervisor is responsible for managing daily production and installation operations across both interior plumbing projects and exterior excavation/utility installations. This position oversees the scheduling and coordination of crews, materials, and equipment, ensuring all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards. The Supervisor works closely with the Field Supervisor to monitor job quality, address field issues, and maintain clear communication between office and field operations.
Key Tasks
Production & Scheduling
Plan, organize, and schedule daily and weekly activities for interior and exterior installation crews.
Coordinate with crews and warehouse staff to ensure materials and equipment are ready and delivered to job sites.
Review project scopes, blueprints, and work orders to verify readiness before dispatch.
Adjust schedules as needed to address project changes, weather delays, or material shortages.
Support job costing and labor tracking to maintain production efficiency.
Field Oversight & Collaboration
- Provide leadership and direction to installation and excavation crews.
- Partner with the Field Supervisor to ensure installation quality, safety compliance, and adherence to plumbing codes.
- Communicate project expectations and job details to crew leads daily.
- Visit job sites to review progress, resolve issues, and ensure company standards are met.
- Serve as the primary liaison between management and field teams.
Leadership & Team Development
- Coach, mentor, and support team members to improve technical performance, productivity, and professionalism.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review project performance and safety practices.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of field employees.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on safety and customer satisfaction.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all work practices follow OSHA safety guidelines and company safety policies.
- Verify crews have appropriate PPE, tools, and equipment for each job.
- Support safety meetings and enforce adherence to protocols.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate job documentation, crew schedules, and daily reports.
- Track materials, labor hours, and job costs for reporting and analysis.
- Assist with forecasting crew and equipment needs.
- Participate in process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Desired Skills and Experience
Education & Experience:
- 5+ years of plumbing or construction experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and installation practices (both interior and exterior).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with scheduling and job-tracking software.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Skills & Competencies:
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
 • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
 • Proficiency in MS Office and operations management software (e.g., ServiceTitan, Samsara, and ADP).
 • Ability to interpret data, manage budgets, and make data-driven decisions.
