Job description:
Sign Shop Technician
US Traffic Control, Inc. is a manufacturing, retail, and rental provider of work zone safety equipment. We are looking to hire a full time permanent employee to join our Sign Shop Team. More specifically we are looking to hire a hardworking, dependable individual for the position of sign shop assistant.
This position requires a candidate who can perform sign fabrication and repairs. This individual will be able to perform a variety of sign fabrication work assignments and aid in the flow of sign production. This position asks candidates to be comfortable in a warehouse/ manufacturing environment. It will also require the candidate to be familiar with large format printers and laminators, both in operating and maintaining this type of machinery though previous experience or training.
Duties include but are not limited to:
· Operate large Format Printer (Avery Dennison Mutoh) and Laminator
· Assist in the creation of special order designs and of standard traffic signs
· Operate Vinyl plotter/cutter (Graphtec)
· Ability to weed and tape die cut vinyl graphics
· Ability to laminate printed vinyl graphics
· Prepare and apply vinyl to different surfaces (plywood, coroplast, aluminum)
· Ensuring sign compliance to MUTCD and NYS standards
· Assist with work plan and procedures and prioritize construction and repairs of traffic signs
· Maintain machines in good working conditions and perform equipment repairs as needed
Essential Qualifications
· Must be deadline driven, have excellent time management skills and organization skills
· Must be detail oriented and reliable
· Knowledge of tools, materials, methods of fabrication, building and repairing signs
· Knowledge of panel saw and other hand tools
· Experience with “Flexi” Sign Software is a plus, right candidate can be trained
· Reading and comprehension of schematic drawings
· Knowledge of basic maintenance procedures
· Ensure proper storage and packaging of material
· Successful candidate must have relevant course work or on-the-job experience applicable to sign printing

Hours: M-F 7am to 3:30pm
