Nat-Su Healthcare is looking for an Optometrist to perform eye tests and provide excellent eye care to our patients. Optometrist responsibilities include analyzing vision tests, identifying sight problems, and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. To be successful in this role, you should have attention to detail and be able to treat all kinds of patients with kindness and discretion, from young children to the elderly. Note that to be considered for this position, you need to be a licensed Optometrist with the State of Utah, as you will be responsible for the accurate diagnosis and treatment.Ā

Optometrist Qualifications/Skills: Ā 

  • Applied understanding of general principles of optometry and best practices for the diagnosis and treatment of eye-related disorders and conditions. Ā 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to patients of diverse backgrounds. Ā 
  • Excellent customer service skills. Ā 
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Ā 
  • General computer proficiency. Ā 
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and multitasking ability.Ā 

Ā 

Responsibilities:Ā 

  • Perform comprehensive eye and vision tests.Ā 
  • Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism, and glaucomaĀ 
  • Provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to sight issues based on each patient’s specific case and medical history.Ā 
  • Prescribe medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses.Ā 
  • Advise patients on proper eye care techniques.Ā 
  • Keep updated and accurate medical records for all patients.Ā 
  • Book next appointments in cases where re-examination is required.Ā 
  • Train patients on how to use and maintain their contact lenses.Ā 
  • Refer eye doctors and ophthalmologists when patients need to undergo surgery or in cases of severe eye injuries.Ā 

Ā 

Education and Experience Requirements:Ā 

  • Two-plus years’ experience as an OptometristĀ 
  • In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defectsĀ 
  • Hands-on experience with eye examination tools, such as ophthalmoscope and tonometerĀ 
  • The ability to explain medical terms simply and calmly.Ā 
  • Valid CPR certificate preferred.Ā 
  • Attention to detail.Ā 
  • Active state optometry licenseĀ 
  • Degree in Optometry from an accredited optometry programĀ 

Position Status: Full-Time/Part-Time

To comply with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 the essential physical, mental, and environmental requirements. Candidates must be able to successfully perform all functions of their job with minimal supervision.
