Job Overview
Jennmar is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and heavy equipment to efficiently move, locate, and transport metal materials throughout the facility. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations within our shipping and receiving departments while adhering to safety protocols.

Duties

• Operate forklifts, and overhead cranes to move materials within the warehouse and yard.
• Perform heavy lifting of metal-on-metal materials handling tasks as required.
• Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate inventory management.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and maintain a safe working environment.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols while operating heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar role within a warehouse and yard environment.
• knowledge of proper use and control of overhead crane.
• Familiarity with materials handling techniques and heavy equipment operation.
• Experience with shipping and receiving processes is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
• Certification for operating forklifts or other heavy machinery is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
