Behavior Interventionist provides in-home and community behavioral support and intervention to youth who areÂ
currently in the foster care system and who are at risk for placement instability due to behavioral health needs.
Services will be provided to youth, and their placement provider and/or permanency family. Modeling healthy social
interaction, teaching life skills and maintaining appropriate boundaries and communication with youth and members
of the case management team
Education and experience requirements:  
- : High school diploma or equivalent
Licensure & Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
- All KVC Kansas employees must be at least 21 years of age.
What you will do: 
- Provide structured activities and behavioral interventions in the home and community to support client treatment goals.
- Teach and model daily living, social, and problem-solving skills to help youth increase independence.
- Assist clients with daily tasks and provide transportation to appointments or community activities.
- Coordinate session schedules and frequency directly with placement providers and case managers.
- Communicate client progress, behavioral concerns, and pertinent information to the multidisciplinary case team.
- Complete all clinical documentation, activity logs, and billing sheets accurately and on time.
- Serve as a mandated reporter for any suspected abuse or neglect.
- Maintain Medicaid-approved Behavior Interventionist specialist certification and attend all required agency trainings.
- Engage youth and families in a positive, respectful, and trauma-informed manner.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and interpersonal skills effective for individuals with serious emotional disturbances.
- Manage conflict and behavioral escalations calmly and professionally.
- Maintain strict professional boundaries and confidentiality in all aspects of work.
- Collaborate effectively as a team member, participating in supervision and staff meetings.
