Join our team as a Adoption Case Manager!

KVC Kansas | Full-Time | Topeka, KS

The Case Manager provides case management services to children and families in order to facilitate safety, permanency, and well[1]being.

Education and experience requirements:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, community counseling, human development, child and family development, applied family and youth services, public health, health sciences, trauma studies, sociology/social services, substance abuse/addictions, early childhood education, or psychology from an accredited college/university.
  • Requires Intermediate computerskills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as Outlook email
  • Previous experience in children and family services preferred

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  • All KVC Kansas employees must be at least 21 years of age.

What you will do:

  • Client Engagement & Advocacy: Build strong, trauma-informed relationships with families by honoring their lived experiences and individual needs regarding race, ethnicity, poverty, and developmental stages.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate professional partnerships with clients, placement providers, DCF, and community resources through active, transparent information sharing.
  • Comprehensive Service Delivery: Provide high-quality home and community-based services, including interactive observations, skill-building, safety planning, and on-call crisis intervention.
  • Operational Support: Ensure client safety and stability through effective resource coordination, client transportation, and the administration of drug screens.
  • Strategic Advocacy: Champion the client’s best interests by utilizing assessment data to provide court testimony, attend school meetings, and coordinate mental health care.
  •  Professional Standards: Maintain strict accountability by completing thorough case logs, comprehensive assessments, and court reports with consistent urgency and accuracy.
