KVC Kansas | Full-Time | Topeka, KS

Outpatient Therapists provide therapy to children and their families in order to facilitate and/or maintain timely permanent placements.

Hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office required. 

$3,000 sign on bonus for new employees! The sign-on bonus is available only to candidates who are new to the company. Current employees, including internal transfers from other departments or business units, are not eligible.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (LMSW), family therapy (LMFT & LCMFT), counseling (LPC & LCPC) or Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of one year supervised experience in providing individual, family and group therapy to children and/or adolescents. 
  • Documented course work in child/adolescent development and individual, family and group counseling.
  • Requires Intermediate computerskills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as Outlook email

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Licensure with the BSRB
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  • All KVC Kansas employees must be at least 21 years of age.

What you will do:

  • Clinical Therapy & Support: Provide home-based individual, group, and family therapy using a strengths-based approach to meet client goals.
  • Crisis & Safety Management: Deliver on-call crisis intervention and assist team units with safety planning and specialized clinical interventions.
  •  Consultation & Advocacy: Coordinate care with psychiatrists, provide staff consultation, and offer professional testimony in court hearings.
  • Collaboration & Partnership: Maintain proactive communication with DCF and courts while participating in all required team and external meetings.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure timely documentation of all client contact and complete mandatory annual in-service trainings.
  •  Field Travel: Perform extensive driving to provide community-based services, maintaining a valid license and auto insurance.
