- The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus, a part of a rich legacy of compassionate care since 1909, now offers 378 licensed beds, a history of innovation, and strong community support.
- Responsible for decontamination, correct assembly and sterile processing of all instruments used in the operating room and ambulatory/specialty clinics.
- Demonstrates an understanding of procedures required for decontamination and terminal sterilization of instrumentation while instituting protective measures.
- Practices all infection control standards regarding proper cleaning and sterilization of all instrumentation.
- Understands and follows defined sterilization practices for all instrumentation to assure proper and approved sterilization.
- Assists in the facilitation of the OR schedule by proper prioritizing of instrument set needs, including ancillary departments.
- Track instrument sets and pouches on the proper sterilization record.
Job Requirements:
- High school or equivalent education.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Completion of a Sterile Processing training program
- Certified Sterile Processing Tech
- Knowledge of instrumentation, sterilization methods, and infection control practices.
