A Brief Overview
Produces two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by physicians in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs by performing the following duties.

Education Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled or have completed an advanced training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.


Skills and Abilities

  • Must demonstrate excellent technical skills in multiple ultrasound exams. (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and performs proper high-level disinfection processes for probe care. (If applicable) (Required proficiency)
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and performs department exam protocols. (Required proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • Basic Life Support - BLS Required within 90 days.


What you will do

  • Selects appropriate equipment/transducer for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination/protocol.
  • Accurately enters required data into systems.
  • Selects and adds correct associated examination charges as needed.
  • Completes and participates in Quality Improvement evaluation as needed/assigned.
  • Participates in training of students as directed.
  • Rotating call is a requirement of the position as directed by department leadership.
