Job Summary
The Service Business Development Manager is responsible for developing HVAC retrofit and maintenance opportunities via AMPAM’s deep owner-direct relationships. In this role, you will be responsible for working with our existing clients to proactively develop equipment replacement and retrofit opportunities, while expanding into new, non-AMPAM clients to grow our market share in the multifamily and hospitality sectors. 


This role requires a passion for anticipating customers needs, excellent verbal and written communication, strong relationship‑building skills, market awareness, and a proven track record in developing a sustainable book of business. The Service Business Development Manager will work collaboratively with estimating, engineering, and Service project management teams to ensure alignment, client satisfaction, and successful project acquisition. This position requires frequent travel to meet with clients, attend industry events, and develop strategic partnerships.


Key Responsibilities Include: (But not limited to the following)

  • Develop and scope Service retrofit HVAC projects and maintenance programs within the multifamily and hospitality verticals
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen long‑term relationships with owners, developers, property managers, and key decision‑makers
  • Collaborate with AMPAM construction and service teams - estimating, engineering, and project management to scope opportunities and develop client‑focused solutions and proposals, and win business
  • Identify opportunities in the market to create leverage to keep customers informed on news which can help them make a decision, such as applicable rebates or incentives as well as code or legislative changes and industry trends to close new business
  • Attend client meetings, walkthroughs, conferences, and industry events to promote company capabilities and grow the company’s presence in target markets
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of client interactions, pursuit strategies, proposals, and follow‑up activities in our CRM, Salesforce
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and sales materials that demonstrate the company’s value and technical strengths in MEP service
  • Develop a strategic pipeline and forecast to support revenue goals and long‑term growth objectives within assigned verticals


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3–5 years of business development or sales experience in the mechanical/HVAC services industry
  • Existing relationships in the multifamily and/or hospitality construction markets highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, developing HVAC scope, and HVAC project lifecycles
  • Experience pursuing and securing medium to large mechanical or service projects
  • Microsoft Office Applications
  • Use of Salesforce is required
  • Ability to travel regularly for client meetings, site visits, and industry events
  • Dependable, self‑motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and group presentation skills
