Under the direction of the medical center's Engineering Supervisor of Electronic Maintenance, the Systems Technician I is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting the medical center's electronic low voltage alarm systems, electrical distribution systems, some computer systems, and some cabling systems. Upon direction, the technician will inspect, maintain, and repair as required the medical centers electronic equipment.

  • Ensures Fire Alarm System works at all times and maintains the electrical portion of the fire alarm system.
  • Ensures that the facilities low voltage systems work at all times, responds to emergency calls to keep them functioning, and notifies the supervisor of any and all abnormalities.
  • Troubleshoots the system and its components.
  • Performs periodic preventive maintenance on the system and its components to insure continuous performance.
  • Reports to supervisor any changes to the system or its operation.
  • Responds to work orders to insure that the voice paging system functions properly.
  • Helps maintain records and drawings of the complete system and its repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, responds to work orders, and insures that the code blue system functions properly through participating in the quarterly inspections.
  • Performs repairs to the system, and reports all changes, repairs, upgrades, and deficiencies in the system immediately to supervisor.
  • Assists with repairs to the system and its components, responds to work orders, under direction calls in outside vendors for repairs when necessary, and insures that all work done to the system meets medical center standards.
  • Performs periodic preventive maintenance on the system and its components to insure continuous performance.
  • Installs cable, connectors, blocks, etc, to insure a complete working system.
  • Ensures a constant supply of repaired TVs either through in house repair, or outside vendor repair.
  • Maintains records on all medical center TVs and maintains accurate drawings of cabling system.
  • Assists with preventive maintenance work, responds to work orders, and does minor repairs to electrical panels, motors, disconnects, signs, lighting, etc Helps maintain records and drawings of the complete system and its repairs.
  • Reports any abnormal conditions in the system to the Manager.
  • Performs minor repair or maintenance work to the medical center electrical system.
  • Assists with preventive maintenance work, responds to work orders, and does minor repairs to electrical panels, motors, disconnects, signs, lighting, etc Helps maintain records and drawings of the complete system and its repairs.
  • Pulls cables, or coordinates with outside vendors when new communication, data, or TV cables are needed.
  • Ensures that all new cabling installations are included on up to date drawings in Engineering.
  • Works with all medical center departments to insure that all new cabling in the medical center meets all applicable codes, and meets medical center standards.
  • Assists with repairs to the system and its components, responds to work orders, under direction calls in outside vendors for repairs when necessary, and insures that all work done to the system meets medical center standards.
  • Ensures that the medical center clock system functions properly through quarterly inspections.
  • Maintains records and drawings of the complete system and its repairs.
  • Performs periodic preventive maintenance on the system and its components to insure continuous performance.
  • Performs daily rounds to insure that all equipment is performing to manufacturers specifications on a continuous basis.
  • Works with medical center staff through in-service training to make sure that all staff members are familiar with correct operation of the equipment.
  • Uses materials, maintains records, and keeps track of work conditions in such a way that accurate and necessary inventory levels of parts, materials, and tools are always met.

Compensation Range: 

$25.51 - 38.53 / Hour
