Home Health Administrator

Physicians Choice Home Health | Torrance, CA | Full-Time, On-Site $145,000–$155,000 + performance bonus

Physicians Choice Home Health is a worker-owned Home Health Agency serving the South Bay and Southeast LA. We're growing, and we're looking for an experienced operational leader to help us do it right, with a business mindset, a people-first culture, and a genuine stake in the outcome.

As our Home Health Administrator, you'll manage business performance, market growth, and capacity planning for Physicians Choice Home Health. You'll plan, direct, and evaluate agency operations to ensure the services we provide are compliant, strategic, and built to last. You'll drive revenue through new client acquisition and market expansion and develop strategic hiring plans to keep field staffing models optimized as we grow.

You'll partner closely with our international scheduling team and with clinical leadership to keep workflows and patient care consistent, and to lead our agency's sustainable expansion within our worker-owned cooperative structure.

What You Will Do

  • Business Development & Growth: Build and maintain professional relationships with hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, and physician networks to drive patient referral volume across the South Bay and beyond
  • Field Staffing & Coverage: Partner with our scheduling team to translate census data into staffing plans and efficient daily field routing, resolving administrative delays and closing coverage gaps
  • Team Culture & Communication: Streamline communication across marketing, intake, operations, and clinical teams, and foster an inclusive, engaged culture that supports staff retention and professional growth
  • Financial Oversight: Lead Agency budgeting and financial tracking, monitor field team productivity, and partner with billing to strengthen agency profitability
  • Leadership & Compliance: Report on key operational performance metrics to the CEO and board, partner on strategic and policy initiatives, and maintain survey readiness and regulatory compliance.

The Day-to-Day

This position is based in our Torrance, CA office, with 25%+ local travel around our service area for outreach and relationship-building. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

What you bring

  • 5-7 years in home health operations, administrative leadership, or business development
  • Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, Home Health Conditions of Participation, and key agency metrics (referral-to-admission conversion, clinician productivity, census utilization)
  • A track record of growing patient census, building referral networks, and projecting staffing needs
  • Experience leading and developing an operational team
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Clear, collaborative communication skills across clinical, administrative, and business teams
  • A bachelor's degree in healthcare or business administration, or equivalent experience
  • EMR proficiency (WellSky or Kinnser a plus)
  • Digital comfort, with working knowledge of tools like Google Workspace, Slack, or Asana, and the flexibility to pick up new platforms as the role requires

Nice to Haves: Experience in a worker-owned or cooperative business, a master's degree, experience with financial forecasting in a healthcare setting, or a track record leading process-improvement initiatives that stuck.

Physical Requirements

This is primarily a sedentary, computer-based role. Essential functions include working at a computer workstation for extended periods, communicating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in person, by phone, and by video, reviewing and analyzing information on a computer screen and in print, and occasionally traveling locally to office and community meetings. Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

What We Offer

Beyond a competitive salary, you'll be supported with:

  • Eligibility for Obran Cooperative membership and profit-sharing — a real stake in the organization you help grow
  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, with generous employer contributions
  • HSA/FSA options to cover healthcare and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off, sick time, and paid holidays
  • Mileage reimbursement for local travel
