Position Overview

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for a wide range of Human Resources functions. This role is responsible for coordinating employee onboarding, benefits administration, background checks, HRIS data management, training assignments, employment verifications, and employee record maintenance. The Human Resources Coordinator serves as a key resource for employees and helps ensure the efficient execution of HR processes while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable employment regulations. 

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist with the administration of employee health and welfare benefit programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Process benefits-related documentation with payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate records and payroll deductions.
  • Support annual Open Enrollment activities and employee benefit changes throughout the year.
  • Maintain employee records and process employee status changes in ADP Workforce Now and other HR systems.
  • Administer Sushi Chef workforce management functions, including new hire onboarding and employee status updates.
  • Ensure employee information is accurate, current, and maintained in accordance with company policies.
  • Coordinate pre-employment activities, including background checks and new hire documentation.
  • Complete Form I-9 verification and maintain I-9 records in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Prepare onboarding materials, including employee name badges, ID cards, and new hire packets.
  • Process employment verifications and employee information updates, such as address changes.
  • Coordinate required employee training programs, including harassment prevention training and other compliance-related courses.
  • Assist with assigning and tracking performance evaluations and related employee development activities.
  • Support payroll processes through validation of new hire information and other payroll-related audit activities.
  • Assist with processing vendor payment requests and HR-related invoices.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and ensure proper record retention practices.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely support regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and employment-related matters.
  • Prepare, scan, copy, mail, and distribute HR documents as needed.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives, company events, holiday celebrations, and other HR projects.
  • Assist with general administrative duties, including filing, correspondence preparation, and mail distribution.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • At least 1-2 years of HR related experience required
  • Bilingual in Burmese and English language required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • ADP Workforce Now experience highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of HR principles, employment practices, and procedures
  • Ability to exercise discretion and handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Exceptional attention to detail 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
