What we’re building

The marine industry supports recreation, global commerce, and national defense. And yet it runs on technology that hasn't meaningfully changed in fifty years. Until now.

Arc is on a mission to electrify the marine industry. We're rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs from first principles. And we're already executing. We started with consumers to develop and harden our core technology. We’re now scaling production of our flagship model with new models and sectors on the horizon. Now we’re extending our platform to commercial applications, starting with tugs, ferries, and defense, with years worth of signed contracts and a pipeline that spans every vessel type on the water.

The technology is proven, the momentum is building, and the opportunity is enormous. The marine industry is going electric and Arc is building the platform that powers it

Who we’re looking for

As Arc’s Senior Compliance Specialist, you will own the compliance backbone that protects Arc’s contracting activities across its commercial and government channels. That means reviewing solicitations and regulations to keep every proposal and contract compliant, building and enforcing company-wide policies to manage risk, and representing Arc credibly to regulators, auditors, and government agencies.

We're looking for someone fired up by the mission and ready to build. You'll thrive here if you move fast, take ownership, and care about the details.

This is a full-time, on-site role at our Los Angeles headquarters.

What You'll Do

Proposal & Contract Compliance

  • Reviewing solicitations (RFP/RFQ/RFI) to identify all compliance, certification, and eligibility requirements before proposal kickoff
  • Monitoring and advising on applicable federal regulations (FAR/DFARS), small business and socioeconomic certification requirements, and agency-specific clauses
  • Maintaining records supporting compliance representations (certifications, reps and certs, past performance documentation) and registrations for good standing in government systems
  • Supporting post-award contract compliance as Arc's government and commercial contract base grows
  • Organizing training for staff across the company to ensure everyone understands their compliance obligations and Arc's standards

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in proposal compliance, contracts administration, or government contracts compliance
  • Strong working knowledge of federal procurement regulations (FAR/DFARS) and solicitation structure (Sections L/M)
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to catch issues others miss under deadline pressure
  • Experience building or maintaining compliance matrices and supporting documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement compliance policies and internal controls
  • Clear communication skills, comfortable flagging risk to leadership directly and constructively
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with small business certifications (SBA programs), socioeconomic set-asides, or similar
  • Background in defense, aerospace, or maritime contracting
  • Paralegal, contracts, or legal background
  • Experience supporting both commercial and government compliance regimes simultaneously
  • Familiarity with SAM.gov, eBuy, GSA schedules, or similar systems
  • Comfortable pushing at a fast but sustainable pace
  • Enthusiasm for boating and the water

At Arc, we encourage diversity and consider all qualified applicants equally for employment, regardless of background, identity, or status. You’re always welcome to reach out even if you don’t meet many of these qualifications. Passion and aptitude make up for a lot.
