100% Remote- Strong Preference Local to So. Cal
Up to 2 month contract
$75- $95 an hour

Successful candidate will create user manuals and documentation for a new access control security product that uses facial recognition, license plate recognition and other technologies to authenticate users. Includes hardware, software, integration and servers. Will be writing hardware installation manual, software installation manual on Windows server and end user guide. Final product will be completed in MS Word or InDesign and exported as PDF files.

Requirements:

• Experience working within IT Services, access control and/or video surveillance industries preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Word and/or InDesign required; proficiency in Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint is a plus. Familiar with MS Teams and TeamViewer would be nice.
• Ability to write and edit in US English: grammar, punctuation and writing style.
• Work with team to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product.
• Review current technical documents and extract pertinent information for user manuals.
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
• Coordinate and lead documentation reviews on deliverables.
• Understand project schedule and keeps deliverables on track during review cycles.
• Builds deliverable templates and suggests improvements to processes and templates.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in a relevant field.
• Previously written user guides / manuals for technology products, ideally for Windows Server software and web-based applications.

Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with any or all of these would be helpful, but not required: facial recognition, license plate recognition, access control, video surveillance.
