Diesel Mechanic

Towanda, KS | Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM-5:00 PM

We're looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our shop team in Towanda, KS. If you enjoy diagnosing problems, keeping equipment running, and working in a shop where your skills are valued, we'd love to talk with you.

Schedule

  • Monday-Friday
  • 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • No overnight travel

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose and repair diesel trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
  • Repair engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, air systems, and electrical components.
  • Repair brakes, steering, suspension, drivelines, and foundation components.
  • Diagnose electronic controls and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure it meets DOT safety standards.
  • Complete work orders accurately and communicate repair needs with the Shop Foreman.
  • Identify additional repairs or safety concerns before equipment returns to service.
  • Assist with repairs on custom-built equipment as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • Two or more years of diesel, heavy truck, agricultural, construction equipment, or heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on diesel equipment.
  • Technical school or diesel certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Must provide your own basic mechanic tools for Class 8 truck and trailer repairs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
