Position type: Exempt

 

Position Overview: First line supervisor of production staff; responsible for employee scheduling and performance issues. Oversees equipment/machinery to ensure proper working order. Manages production output, quality, safety and environmental. This position is on first shift.

Responsibilities Would Include:

  • Communicate job expectations to direct workforce. Plan, and monitor workforce schedule in order to meet schedule attainment and production goals. Provide coaching, counseling, and discipline when necessary.
  • Complete performance reviews with all employees. Responsible for employee training and maintaining training records. Ensure employees are following documented procedures.
  • Develop and maintain departmental procedures. Review and modify material routes in SAP for accuracy.
  • Coordinate repair of equipment with maintenance group. Support new equipment efforts.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of 5S. Maintain compliance with all environmental and safety standards.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required. Prior leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma/Statistics LEAN and 5S a plus. Experience with Minitab, SAP, Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Familiarity or interest in powder metallurgy and powder processing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with many levels of the organization.
  • Experience in manufacturing/production area a plus.
