Reports To: Retail Sales Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: Grade 2

Gaming Class: Compact/Gaming

Position Summary:

The Retail Sales Cashier is responsible for providing excellent guest service to ensure a positive shopping experience for customers. The Retail Sales Cashier assists with additional tasks including, but not limited to, stocking, cleaning, inventory, cash handling and merchandise pricing.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

The Retail Sale Cashier is responsible for the following duties:

Greet everyone and proactively approach customers to support their shopping experience.
Create an inclusive store environment where everyone (employees & customers) feels welcome, safe, and is treated with respect.
Respond to problem situations with professionalism.
Think critically to solve problems and approach challenges with agility.
Communicate effectively with customers, employees, and management.
Maintain an awareness of all product information, merchandise promotions and advertisements.
Be aware of casino promotions and property amenities to communicate to guests.
Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise, receiving, and monitoring floor stock.
Ensure that deliveries are checked and promptly put away.
Clean and maintain displays/store to ensure a safe store environment.
Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions and maintain proper cash and POS registers with little to no errors.
Communicate customer requests to Management.
Ensure that the arcade and vending machines are filled and cleaned.
Assist with vending machines and arcade drops.
Assist with monthly inventory.

Qualifications – Education and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

Basic math skills, ability to run POS system, basic computer knowledge.
Ability to accurately handle cash, credit/debit transactions, and other forms of payment.
Ability to operate a cash register/POS system and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to maintain a professional, friendly, and positive demeanor with customers and coworkers.
Ability to follow established cash-handling, security, and loss-prevention procedures.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other shifts as required.
Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-employment screening and meet applicable employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior retail sales, cashier, or customer-focused experience.
High School Diploma or GED.

The work environment is fast-paced and requires overall good mental and physical health.

Physical Demands:

Job-specific abilities and requirements include:

Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders.
Ability to work in tight spaces.
Ability to perform repetitive motion from use of the POS system.
Ability to crouch, crawl, and kneel.
Ability to tolerate various scents, noises, and bright lights.
