Reports To: Maintenance Manager 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Pay Grade: Grade 3

Starting Wage: $15.00 - $17.72

Gaming Class: Compact/Gaming License required

Position Summary: 

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for carrying out various tasks assigned to them by the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager. Tasks assigned will revolve around (but not be limited to) general building and facility maintenance. This is an entry level position, and the incumbent is considered to be in training for gaining higher level skills with the possibility of advancement to a Maintenance Technician II position.


Core Duties and Responsibilities: 

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the following duties.

  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structure, piping, and electrical systems.
  • Visually inspect/test machinery and equipment using electrical and/or mechanical testing equipment.
  • Consult literature on a wide variety of different equipment to ensure proper maintenance procedures.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment safely and properly.
  • Paint/sheetrock.
  • Replace electrical fixtures.
  • General plumbing.
  • Fabrication/assembly of various types of structures.

Qualifications – Education and Experience: 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform physical work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Basic plumbing.
  • Basic electrical.
  • Basic carpentry.
  • Basic mechanical.
  • Some prior experience in general facility maintenance.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

 

Work Environment: 

The Maintenance Technician I will work in a fast-paced environment where good overall physical and mental health is required. 

Physical Demands: 

Job-specific abilities and requirements include:

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to endure harsh weather conditions.
  • Ability to maneuver and work safely in tight spaces.
  • Ability to operate hand/power tools for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to crouch, crawl, or kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb and work safely on ladders/scaffolding.
  • Ability to safely haul/carry furniture or other large items.
  • Ability to tolerate various scents, noises, and bright lights.
