Description

Position Summary

Registers patients in the setting of Grace Cottage Family Health following approved clinic policies and obtaining required information. Directs patients in a friendly and helpful manner. This position will float from Registration to Scheduling and must be flexible, hours can range from 6:30 am to 5 pm depending on the coverage needed.


Qualifications

Education/ Experience: High school graduate or equivalent. Proficient computer skills required.

  • Ability to work independently carrying out various activities with minimal supervision.


Other Requirements: Previous experience working in a clinical setting and/or experience with scheduling software is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare insurance is desirable. Excellent customer service skills. Maintains a cooperative professional working relationship with staff including but not limited to medical staff, and other departments, as well as outside agencies, community members and our patients.


Requirements

Essential Functions Of The Position:

  • Collects and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Obtains consents and necessary documents.
  • Requests and obtains insurance cards and photo IDs, scans copies into the electronic system.
  • Demonstrates the ability to properly use the phone and computer systems, fax machines, photocopies, scanners, printers and other business machinery.
  • Supports providers and nursing staff with patient check in/out process and administration needs.
  • Supports patients with administrative process.
  • Collects copays and/or payments, provides receipts and runs end-of-day report.
  • Schedules appointments.
  • Opens and/or closes the office.
  • Manages the waiting room.
  • Handles telephone calls.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by Practice Office Director.
