Job Description

The Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive patient care to patients in collaboration with physician partners, managing the complex care of the prenatal, antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patient. This includes admission, monitoring and reporting on patient progress and discharge planning and follow through.

Qualifications

Education

• Master’s Degree- Midwifery (Required)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

• BLS Certification (Required)
• Certified Nurse Midwife (Required)
• Maryland CDS license (Required)
• Maryland State DEA license (Required)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required)
• Registered Nurse Certified (Required)
• First Assist Certification (Required within 6 months of hire)

Experience and Skills

• 2 - 4 years Midwifery experience (Preferred)
• 0 - 1 year Ability to scrub as a first assistant on Cesarean sections (Preferred)
• 0 - 1 year Proven skills in third trimester ultrasound (Preferred)
• Required Skills: Strong Verbal Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Strong Customer Services Skills, Proven Analytical Skill

Physical Requirements and Physical Demands 

• Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
• Hears alarms/telephone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice
