Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 5 to 7 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. This position will help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, perform variance analysis, account reconciliations, support internal controls and help oversee AR, AP and payroll operations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a strong foundation in US GAAP accounting principles and a proven record of success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Audit Accounts Payable and Billing transactions.
• Provide guidance, training, and review of work for junior accounting staff.
• Manage fixed asset schedules and depreciation and amortization entries.
• Manage periodic sales and use tax filings and assist tax accountants with income tax schedules.
• Serve as administrator of company purchasing cards and travel expense review.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Serve as backup for payroll processing.
• Collaborate with operations and production teams to ensure accurate financial data.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within accounting operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, organizations, and problem solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards required.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, preferrable a manufacturing ERP system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, advanced functionality preferred.
• Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally.
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and fixed assets required.
• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
