  • Assists in the administrative processes of inputting technical work orders, estimates of expense, and coordination of student payroll; delivers event related audio/visual equipment to various locations on campus using authorized university vehicles including all-terrain vehicle, pickup truck, and commercial delivery vehicles; safely secures equipment when moving such in above mentioned vehicles; reviews information on completed paperwork for accuracy & completion prior to actual events and billing

  • During events, this position supervises student technical employees. Responsibilities include training in proper set up, operation, and load out of technical equipment; ensures all safety measures are in place involving personnel and equipment; provides feedback to the Technical Operations Manager concerning performance of student employees; and assigns responsibilities to student employees during events to best fit their abilities 

  • Establishes and maintains positive relations with university faculty, staff, students, and non-university clients regarding services provided by the Event & Conference Services

  • Assists in the equipment control function, conducting routine tours of the university buildings and grounds noting and returning Technical Operations Department equipment to proper storerooms; as part of routine duties, straightens and organizes storerooms and routinely inspects condition of audio/visual equipment, reporting equipment in need of repair to proper personnel; makes minor repairs to equipment as necessary; recommends new or replacement equipment, assisting in the efficiency of the department; responsible for daily inventory updates and ensures return of event equipment to proper storage location after use    

  • Carries out the general duties associated with the position in order to maintain efficient and effective realization of departmental goals and assists with the successful execution of events

  • Performs other duties as assigned

The work hours for this position will include nights and weekends for event coverage as needed.



Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Technology or related field

  • One year of experience in the operation and maintenance of audio-visual or multimedia equipment

  • Valid Non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license with no more than five (5) points

Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain Forklift Operator certification

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, fast-moving environment

  • Knowledge or use of Filemaker
