Position Overview:

A Technician Assistant at Premier Lifts supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of accessibility equipment such as elevators, platform lifts, and stairlifts. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in the vertical transportation industry.  This position will cover Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland.  The office is in Hunt Valley, MD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with Equipment Installation: Support the setup of elevators and lifts by helping with the assembly, alignment, and securing of components.
  • Maintenance Support: Aid in routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting Assistance: Help diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues under the supervision of experienced technicians.
  • Worksite Preparation: Prepare and maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring tools and materials are readily available.
  • Documentation: Assist in recording maintenance activities, parts used, and any issues encountered during service calls.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a mechanical or construction role is advantageous but not required.
  • Skills: Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, ability to use hand and power tools, and capability to read technical manuals and schematics.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift to 100 lbs., work at heights, and stand for extended periods.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, willingness to travel for out-of-town assignments, and commitment to safety protocols.
