SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will perform day-to-day general accounting and financial analysis activities to support the accuracy, integrity, and usefulness of the company’s financial information. The role will be responsible for key aspects of the monthly fiscal close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and capital expenditure tracking, and will partner with accounting and operational leaders to support informed decision-making and deliver improvements in reporting and processes to ensure financial data is both accurate and actionable. 


Job Duties:

  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring compliance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Perform reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the monthly close process, including preparation and review of financial statements.
  • Assist with capital expenditure accounting, including tracking, reporting, and analysis.
  • Preparation of information in support of the annual audit process for external auditor review.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules. 
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances, identify trends, and understand key performance drivers.
  • Support development of budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
  • Partner with colleagues both within accounting and cross-functionally to understand financial performance and identify opportunities for process improvements. 



Background/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience working within accounting or finance teams.
  • Strong foundation in general accounting principles, with demonstrated ownership of accounting processes.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in financial analysis and business performance evaluation.
  • Strong communication skills; able to work cross-functionally to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders alike. 
  • Analytical, with ability to connect financial data to business outcomes.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with and desire to utilize technology to deliver process improvements and automation efforts. Experience and interest in utilizing AI for finance a plus. 
  • Ability to apply a hospitality mindset to their finance & accounting tasks, prioritizing responsiveness, and a high level of service to internal business partners.
  • Organized, detailed oriented and capable of multi-tasking
