Hundred Star Games is an independent video game developer based in Hackney Wick, East London, founded by Jamie Walker and Sefton Hill, previous founders of Rocksteady and the creative leadership team of Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series.

Growing to a maximum of 100 people over the next few years, we’re doing things differently at Hundred Star, so we can focus on making great games and building meaningful connections with those we work with.

We’re looking for a Senior Gameplay Programmer to join our growing studio and become a key part in shaping the gaming experiences we create.

Working closely with the Gameplay team and the rest of the studio to champion new technologies, you'll support us with our goal of creating a truly impactful and genre defining experience. You will also play a critical role in building future gameplay features and systems for our upcoming project.


We’re a hybrid studio, with everyone working in studio Tuesday through Thursday, with Mondays and Fridays open to WFH within the UK.


 In this role you will :

  • Experiment with game design and use rapid prototyping while ensuring that strong architectural and algorithmic decisions are made

  • Work closely with engineers, artists and designers to create and iterate on gameplay features and systems

  • Optimize and fix bugs in existing gameplay systems

  • Write robust, maintainable code in C++

  • You will collaborate creatively with the other gameplay programmers and create engaging gameplay for our growing project.

  • You'll be responsible for designing, owning, and maintaining systems and code across some of those areas, but also have the chance to contribute with designs and reviews in other areas.


What we’re looking for:

  • Previous professional experience working within the Games Industry, ideally on a AAA title.

  • Open-minded and willing to accept and provide feedback to ensure the highest quality for our systems and gameplay features.

  • Experience working within UE5 would be advantageous.

  • You’ll have a real passion for games and programming

  • Experience in other areas (Engine, AI, Network, Rendering) is a bonus
