What does a Used Vehicle Technician at Hoffman Auto Group do?   

Role Purpose: Repair vehicles in a safe, efficient, ethical manner with customer satisfaction as first priority.

Leadership: This position does not lead others.

Core Accountabilities
 

1. Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership guidelines
2. Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
3. Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, alignments, etc.
4. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
5. Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
6. Keep updated/receive training on automotive technology and industry-standard practices
7. Maintain basic tools necessary to complete assigned jobs. Toolbox must be kept clean and orderly in the work area.
8. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Competencies and Qualifications

1. High School Diploma
2. 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service orientated environment preferred
3. Can adapt and embrace change with an internal and external customer centric mindset
4. Act as an advocate for teammates and have a strong commitment to technology advancement
5. Possesses effective communication skills: oral, written, listening.
6. Works well with customers, promotes a positive image of the company, strives to solve issues raised by customers.
7. Must be able to lift 50 pounds
