Fleet Manager



Gibson Electric Membership Corporation has a Fleet Manager position now open for our Trenton Member Service Center.


Position Summary:

Manages purchasing, maintenance, utilization, compliance, and lifecycle management of the utilities' fleet assets, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, service vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, specialized equipment, generators and air compressors. Ensures fleet reliability, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and cost control. Manages fleet assets to support efficient and safe electric and broadband operations. Oversees and assists with complex mechanical repairs as needed to keep equipment and vehicles safe and operational.


Qualified applicants must have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational or technical certificate in mechanics, hydraulics and electrical
  • Valid Tennessee Class A Commercial driver's license
  • Five years of experience as a mechanic (including major overhauls and hydraulics repairs)
  • Knowledge of OSHA and TOSHA Rules and Regulations, DOT Regulations
  • Ability to effectively and courteously communicate in person, by radio and telephone
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in writing

It is preferred that the applicant have five or more years of experience as a mechanic (including major overhauls and hydraulics repairs) for an electric utility.
