Welder - TIG Welding Specialist

Steel Tool & Engineering is hiring a full-time Welder – Welding Specialist in MI. If you have experience welding thin metals and reading blueprints, this role gives you the chance to work on high-quality components and be part of a skilled, professional team.

This is a full-time manufacturing position with competitive pay of $18.25 - $24.00 per hour, where precision and attention to detail are key.

DELVE DEEPER INTO THIS JOB

This is a full-time position in MI. In this role, you will use hand equipment to join metal parts and fill holes, seams, or indentations in fabricated pieces. You will follow work orders, instructions, and charts to make sure your welding matches customer specifications. You will inspect parts for any issues and properly document non-conformances. You will also keep your equipment clean and well-maintained, record job details accurately, follow all safety rules and NADCAP procedures, and work closely with your team to make sure every part meets quality standards. The schedule is from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of welding experience
• Degree in a technical area or 1 year of welding certification
• Experience welding thin-gauge metals
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturing or customer-provided blueprints
• Ability to accurately read weld sketches and pass all required weld tests
• Strong measuring skills and the ability to weld within tight tolerances
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and staff at all levels
