Job DetailsJob Location: Troutville Ag - Troutville, VA 24175Salary Range: $21.00 - $28.00Position Summary The Agronomy Field Applicator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient application of crop protection products, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs. This position operates and maintains application equipment, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and provides exceptional service to agricultural customers while supporting overall agronomy operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Apply fertilizer, pesticides, herbicides, and other crop inputs according to work orders, labels, and agronomic recommendations. Operate custom application equipment including sprayers, spreaders, tender trucks, and related machinery. Mix, load, and handle agricultural chemicals and fertilizers safely and accurately. Perform daily inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment and vehicles. Maintain application records and complete required documentation for regulatory compliance and billing purposes. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulations regarding chemical handling and transportation. Assist with product delivery, warehouse operations, and inventory management as needed. Communicate professionally with customers, agronomists, and team members regarding application schedules and field conditions. Identify and report equipment issues, safety concerns, and customer service opportunities. Participate in ongoing training to maintain certifications and stay current on agronomic practices and regulations. QualificationsThis is a full-time position and will require individuals with the following skills: Must have excellent customer service and communication skills Duties include assisting customers, driving nurse trucks (dry or liquid), custom application of fertilizer and crop protectant products Must have basic understanding of truck operations Good Driving Record is required Class B Commercial Drivers License or willing to obtain Ability to work in team environment is a requirement High school graduate or GED Willing to work Saturdays
