Position Overview
The Corporate Marketing Events Intern will work closely with Magna’s Events team to support the planning and execution of a broad spectrum of events, including sponsorships, employee engagement activities, tech shows, volunteer events, student activations, and internal conferences. This position will provide experience in project management, event planning, research and management of marketing tools, and branding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support to coordinate all aspects of internal and external events;
- Logistics – venue sourcing, food & beverage, seating charts, shipment of displays, giveaways, and all other marketing materials
- Staffing – organize staffing materials, attend events, and run staffing and be prepared to represent Magna and understand the technology or details of each unique event.
- Research new vendors, tools, and other aspects of event planning such as giveaways, venues, gifts, etc.
- Plan and execute at least one Magna event from start to finish
- Brainstorm logistics
- Manage team communications, staffing, vendors, etc.
- Similar responsibilities as listed above
Qualifications:
- Project management preferred
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Able to manage a series of tasks concurrently and switch gears quickly as projects require
- Interest in all areas of Event Marketing - event planning, logistics, etc.
Education / Experience
- High School Diploma
- Currently attending or recent graduate of a college or university
- Event planning experience preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Proficient computer knowledge and skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to learn new project and event management tools
- Strong project management skills
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, and able to conduct a normal amount of work at a computer.
- Candidate will be required to support the setup and teardown of event assets, including tables and chairs, backwalls, signage, and banners.
- Some travel may be required, up to a maximum of 10%.
