Summary

Accounting & Tax Specialist is responsible for supporting the company’s accounting, tax, and internal control functions to help ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective business operations. This role provides broad support across financial closing, reporting, tax compliance, and process monitoring, while also contributing to the company’s Internal Control over Financial Reporting framework. The position works closely with accounting, finance, tax advisors, and external auditors to support reporting requirements, compliance activities, and continuous process improvements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting processes in coordination with accounting and finance teams.
  • Review financial data, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Support accounting analysis for new transactions, intercompany matters, and other business activities by gathering relevant information for reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Manage U.S. federal and state corporate tax compliance by coordinating with external tax advisors on tax return preparation, filings, notices, tax planning matters, and regulatory updates.
  • Assist with tax provision calculations and financial statement tax disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Monitor state and local tax matters, including sales and use tax, property tax, and other business tax obligations, as applicable.
  • Oversee tax credits and incentive programs, including compliance with applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain the company’s ICFR framework, including control documentation, testing, and remediation follow-up, to help ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and ICFR audit activities, including walkthroughs, documentation requests, testing support, and follow-up on auditor comments.
  • Identify control gaps, monitoring relevant accounting and regulatory developments, and supporting process improvements to strengthen the overall control environment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in corporate tax, accounting, internal audit, or internal controls.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, corporate tax regulations, and internal control frameworks.
  • Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and auditors.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English (reading, speaking, and writing) preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is a plus.
  • Advanced degree and/or CPA preferred.
  • Additional tax certifications (e.g., CMI, JD) preferred.
