Your Key Responsibilities

Co-Op - Thermal Management / Product Development – Fall 2026

The Cooperative Education Student supports the Thermal Management Product Development team by completing assigned projects, participating in hands‑on training, and gaining exposure to engineering and manufacturing processes. This role is designed to provide meaningful professional development while contributing to active design and development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned project(s) throughout the work term with a high level of independence and accountability.
  • Participate in development activities including hands‑on training, and exposure to Schaeffler’s engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with product design and development tasks within the Thermal Management department.
  • Perform design concept work and engineering calculations for thermal systems.
  • Create and prepare 3D models and component designs using CAD tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to support efficient workflow and project completion.
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to ongoing coolant and refrigerant system initiatives.
  • Conduct research on advanced thermal management technologies.
  • Support benchmarking activities and competitive analysis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and business needs.

Your Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Hands‑on CAD modeling experience preferred.
