Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, and we are in search of a Power Systems Assembly Team Lead based at our Troy, MI office.Â
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Power Systems Assembly Team Lead will lead a team through the assembly of industrial power conversion systems, more commonly known as rectifier systems. These systems are composed of transformers, breaker systems, control panels, and high-power electrical components. This is an exciting opportunity to build complete industrial power conversion systems from the ground up!Â

 In this role you will get to:
- Team Supervision:Â Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the rectifier assembly team so the group works cohesively and efficiently to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Quality Control:Â Monitor the rectifier assembly process to confirm components and assemblies meet required quality, environmental, and safety standards, and complete inspections and corrective actions when needed.
- Work Coordination:Â Partner with engineering, procurement, and production planning to keep work flowing and to support on-time completion of builds and projects.
- Safety Compliance:Â Enforce safety protocols and best practices by conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring team members use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Documentation:Â Maintain accurate records of production data, work progress, and issues encountered during day-to-day operations.
- Coaching & Support:Â Mentor and support hourly associates in the work area and help facilitate problem solving when issues arise.
- Assembly & Wiring:Â Assemble industrial power conversion systems by building control panels and subassemblies and completing mechanical and electrical installation work to specification. Route, terminate, and harness both control and power wiring in a neat, serviceable manner. Strip conductors and apply lugs to complete terminations correctly.Â
- Schedule Flexibility & Additional Duties:Â Work overtime as needed to meet production demands and complete other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
- Detailed Assembly Tasks:Â Complete hands-on mechanical and electrical build activities to finish each system, including mounting and assembling control panels and sub-assemblies according to drawings and work instructions.Â
- Installation of Components:Â Install and wire breakers, including mechanical interlocks, to support safe and reliable operation. Install resistors, capacitors, SCRs, diodes, heat sinks, and related components as part of the build process.Â
- Installation of Transformers:Â Position transformers and complete transformer wiring to specification.Â
- Technical Interpretation & Build to Spec:Â Interpret electrical documentation and verify builds align to engineering and customer requirements. Interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and relay logic to support correct wiring and troubleshooting. Read and follow blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and work instructions throughout the build.Â
- Finishing of Assembly:Â Confirm the completed build meets engineering requirements and customer specifications prior to release. Complete final cabinet wiring and install panels to complete the assembly.Â
Qualifications:Â
- High School DiplomaÂ
- Advanced knowledge in assembly
- Intermediate knowledge in wiring assembly
- 2 years’ experience in manufacturing environmentÂ
- Production experience in fast-paced, continuous improvement changing environment.Â
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Willing to work overtime as needed to meet production needs.Â

Preferred skills:
- One year of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, and MRP transactions (Epicor preferred)
- Excellent people skills with a proven ability in leading teams and training employees
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment.
