REIC Rentals is a leading manufacturer of industrial heating solutions serving the construction, industrial, and specialty rental industries across North America. We are looking for our first dedicated Product Quality Technician to help establish and maintain quality standards for our growing jet heater manufacturing operation in Troy, MI.

What You'll Do

As our Product Quality Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring every product leaving our facility meets REIC's standards for quality, safety, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect reman and new jet engines.
  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and finished goods from suppliers.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections of manufactured jet heaters.
  • Verify products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify, document, and communicate quality issues and product defects.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Support the development and improvement of quality procedures and work instructions.
  • Assist with testing, product validation, and evaluation of new products.
  • Inspect retrofit kits and production assemblies for completeness and accuracy.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance product quality and manufacturing consistency.
  • Support production teams while promoting a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Operate forklifts and company vehicles after required certifications are obtained.
  • Travel occasionally to support supplier visits, inspections, or manufacturing activities.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, assembly, mechanical inspection, or related technical work.
  • Experience inspecting mechanical or industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality control methods and inspection techniques.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Certifications

The successful candidate must be able to obtain:

  • Forklift Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire
  • DOT Certification within six (6) months of hire

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and inspect equipment.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Work safely in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
