The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for preparation of budgets, forecasts and insightful financial and operational analyses that supports informed decision-making. Responsibilities also include preparing analyses of work-in-process, overseeing the billing function, managing collections, administration of the firm’s general and professional liability insurance policies, and assisting with other internal initiatives. Key 

Responsibilities

  • Lead annual budget development and monitor budget-to-actual performance throughout the year.
  • Prepare and maintain a rolling P&L outlook, integrating recent actual results with best estimates for future months
  • Conduct detailed financial and operational analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare analyses of work-in-process, identify and resolve problems to ensure work is billed appropriately and timely
  • Manage the firm’s collections function
  • Administer the firm’s general and professional liability insurance policies, including renewals, claims, and documentation.
  • Partner with firm leadership on special projects, process improvement initiatives, and technology or system enhancements that strengthen financial management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting required; advanced degree (MBA or CPA) preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting or financial management experience. ï‚§ Proven experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with partners, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with CCH Axcess or similar systems a plus.
