Social Worker - Crime Victims Services (PREA)

What you will do:
The Social Worker is responsible for providing services to victims/survivors of sexual, physical and domestic violence, stalking, other crimes and to secondary victims of crimes. This position specifically focuses on providing trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to individuals and groups who have survived traumatic events with approximately half of the caseload consisting of incarcerated individuals who have experienced sexual assault, abuse and harassment with the other half consisting of community referrals.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a therapy caseload of 20 to 25 individual clients seen weekly.
Provide supportive services, including but not limited to crisis intervention, counseling/therapy, advocacy, compensation assistance.
What You Will Need:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required. Experience working with children and adolescent is preferred.
- LMSW or LMHC preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system and Family Court process is preferred.
- Excellent writing skills, public speaking, and proficiency are required.
- Reliable transportation is required to meet with clients at school locations, to attend any required meetings, and to provide education/outreach programs.
- New York State Certified Sexual Assault Counselor (or be willing to apply for certification with appropriate training provided by our department).
Pay Range: $30.00 - $43.08
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
