Position Overview
The Family Practice Physician will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals and families across the lifespan, with a focus on improving health outcomes in the American Indian and Alaska Native population.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all agesÂ
- Conduct patient evaluations, physical exams, and medical historiesÂ
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditionsÂ
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic imagingÂ
- Prescribe medications in accordance with IHS formulary guidelinesÂ
- Provide patient education on disease prevention and health maintenanceÂ
- Coordinate referrals using the Patient Referred Care (PRC) processÂ
- Collaborate with clinical staff on quality improvement initiativesÂ
- Follow all IHS infection control and safety protocolsÂ
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR systemÂ
- Uphold patient rights, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivityÂ

Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)Â
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family MedicineÂ
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Urgent CareÂ
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territoryÂ
- Current DEA registrationÂ
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationÂ
- ACLS and PALS preferredÂ
- Experience with Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare systems preferredÂ
- Experience working in rural or underserved settings preferredÂ
- Must be a U.S. citizen residing primarily in the United StatesÂ
- Must be able to pass a federal background/security clearanceÂ
- Proof of education (diploma or transcripts required)Â
