About the Role

Ichor Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to support the design, development, testing, and production of advanced OEM equipment. This is an early-career opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience while working alongside mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing, and technician teams.

You’ll help troubleshoot technical issues, support product improvements, perform testing, maintain engineering documentation, and contribute to new product development. This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong foundation in electrical engineering who enjoys hands-on problem solving and wants to grow their technical expertise in a manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the design, development, testing, and documentation of electrical systems and components.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical hardware, equipment, and product issues.
  • Support electrical integration during product assembly and manufacturing.
  • Create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and engineering documentation.
  • Assist with the assembly, wiring, testing, and modification of electrical panels, enclosures, and components.
  • Develop and execute engineering tests under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data and results.
  • Participate in design reviews and support implementation of engineering changes.
  • Assist with the evaluation, selection, and qualification of electrical components and potential replacements.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and technician teams to investigate and resolve technical issues.
  • Support new product development and introduction from engineering through production.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation and follow applicable configuration and change-control processes.
  • Follow applicable safety, quality, and engineering standards.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience; internship, co-op, academic project, or other hands-on technical experience may be considered.
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including analog and digital circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with electrical test equipment and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to document technical work clearly and accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, equipment, and manufacturing processes.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, academic, or professional experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, or data acquisition equipment.
  • Familiarity with electrical design or PCB design tools such as Altium.
  • Programming or scripting experience with Python, C#, C/C++, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, LabVIEW, or data acquisition systems.
  • Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, automation, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with engineering change management, configuration management, or source control.
  • Exposure to semiconductor equipment, precision manufacturing, or OEM product development.

Work Environment

This position works across engineering, laboratory, and manufacturing environments and includes hands-on interaction with electrical systems, equipment, and production teams. The role may require the use of applicable PPE and adherence to established electrical and manufacturing safety procedures.
