AKS Engineering & Forestry is looking for an experienced licensed structural engineer to join our growing team in the Tualatin. As a Structural Engineer at AKS, you will be part of a remarkable journey to design and construct structures that stand as testaments to our commitment to excellence and the unique character throughout the Pacific Northwest. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with our teams and support cross office work while engaging in a variety of projects ranging from commercial/industrial/educational/hospital structural design, seismic retrofitting, equipment anchorage design, and single-span bridges.
What Youâll Do
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients that lead to repeat business and new opportunitiesÂ
- Manage scopes, schedules, budgets, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality work on timeÂ
- Lead large- and small-scale structural design or rehabilitation projects for commercial and private structures
- Oversee the preparation of structural investigation reports including performing site visits to document site conditions and reviewing collected documents
- Collaborate with our marketing team as a technical lead to win workÂ
- Mentor and grow a high-performing local team of engineers and technical staffÂ
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering required
- MS or Meng Degree with Structural emphasis preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Desire to obtain SE license in the state of Oregon preferred
- Minimum of four yearsâ progressive structural engineering experience.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software
- Understanding of contracts and agreements.
- Ability to generate structural project proposals.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with relevant local/state/federal regulations and client specific requirements.
- Self-motivated team player.
- Desire and know-how to build client relationships and develop new customers.
- Have a "Do what needs to be done" mindset, taking ownership beyond assigned tasks and stepping in wherever needed to keep projects, teams, and customers supported and running smoothly.
