Maintenance Technician III - 2nd Shift Â
Job PurposeÂ
Support the company’s maintenance program by focusing on plant equipment and building maintenance in a manner that meets and complies with all food safety policies and OSHA regulations.Â
Essential FunctionsÂ
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with plant equipment (e.g., mechanical drive systems, HVAC, hydraulic and pneumatic systems) Â
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems with plant equipment (e.g., wiring, circuits, fuses, switches, electrical installations, transformers, motors, and AC/DC motor drives) Â
• Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipmentÂ
• Perform building maintenance and repairs (e.g., air conditioning, lights, forklifts) Â
• Perform repairs on equipment to prevent long-term downtime until permanent repairs can be completedÂ
• Design/fabricate replacement parts or equipment as needed Â
• Electronically troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment by means of installed PLC Â
• Electronically troubleshoot 24 Volt control circuits Â
• Troubleshoot advanced PLC problems by means of computer softwareÂ
• Lead maintenance projects including machine rebuilds, new equipment installs and startupÂ
• Report food safety and quality issues to appropriate personnelÂ
• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures Â
• Perform other job-related duties as assignedÂ
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)Â
• 4-year degree in electronics/maintenance mechanics or 2-year degree and 10+ years in maintenance mechanic roleÂ
• Experience with repair or preventive maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine shop, electricity, or electronics Â
• Advanced knowledge of TPM practicesÂ
• Advanced PLC experience including knowledge of Allen Bradley RSLogix and other software used to control production equipmentÂ
• Advanced knowledge of CMMSÂ
• Advanced knowledge of lockout/tagout programs Â
• Advanced knowledge and experience in boiler operationsÂ
• Experience with ammonia, freon, or other cooling mediaÂ
• Advanced stick and tig welding skills; ability to weld to sanitary standardsÂ
• Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft OfficeÂ
• Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts to identify solutionsÂ
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsÂ
• Strong communication skillsÂ
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks Â
• Ability to train, coach, and mentor othersÂ
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentÂ
