Overview
The Associate Application Engineer for Pumps & Filtration supports field sales efforts to sell standard and custom Rain Bird pump stations. The primary responsibility is to respond promptly to requests for product information and quotations. The ability to uncover customer needs and provide appropriate solutions is critical to success. This position collaborates closely with Plant Manufacturing, Engineering, Materials, Production and Service personnel as well as Rain Bird regional Golf and Landscape SBU sales teams to deliver the highest level of customer service to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Be an active and contributing member of the Applications Engineering Team.
- Monitor incoming inquiries and prioritize responses to all requests with 24 hours of receipt.
- Proactively communicating via e-mail and phone with direct and distributor sales personnel to ensure timely, professional service.
- Collect all information to provide accurate proposals for new pump station opportunities.
- Create detailed sales proposals within defined SLA.
- Create specifications and submittal packages.
- Perform accurate order processing based on quotation / customer needs.
- Track completed proposals through the entire sales cycle.
- Answer technical questions from designers, consultants, contractors and field sales.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of quote tools and pump station sales documents.
- Participate in pump training sessions targeted toward sales personnel and end users.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, Business, Marketing, Computer Science or technical degree preferred)
- Basic understanding of electro-mechanical rotating equipment.
- Ability to learn and use new computer software programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
- Work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Positive mental attitude with ability to positively influence others
- Strong analytical skills
