Marana Health is seeking a Administrative Job Coach to join the Behavioral Health team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. 

 

The Administrative Job Coach supports individuals with disabilities in gaining and maintaining employment in the administrative field. This role focuses primarily on assisting Administrative Work Adjustment Trainees (WAT participants) at Marana Health facilities by providing training and hands-on coaching in core office tasks and front-desk functions, including insurance verification, scheduling, client check-in, phone etiquette, and customer service. The Job Coach helps participants build the skills, confidence, and knowledge necessary for success in professional administrative settings, while also partnering with colleagues to promote inclusive and supportive workplace environments. Ongoing guidance, performance feedback, progress monitoring, and advocacy are key components of this role to ensure long-term job retention and career development for each participant.

The following qualifications are required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals certification (obtained prior to start date)
  • First Aid certification (may be completed with Marana Health upon hire)
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (must be verified as “valid” prior to start date)
  • Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by Marana Health)

 

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Associate degree in social services, business, or related field
  • 2 years’ experience in behavioral health or related social services, supporting clients with disabilities
  • Experience working with the State AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC) and Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) clients
  • Previous experience in administrative work
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

 

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

Please note that these requirements may be waived for employees who are not assigned to physical locations and are fully remote or virtual. Staff in hybrid roles (working partially on-site in Marana Health facilities) are required to meet all stated requirements for the assigned site(s).

This position has the following supervisory responsibility:

  • This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance, direction, or training to program participants and peers as part of regular job duties.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills, with a focus on building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy
  • Proficiency with computers and basic software
  • Knowledge of State ACC and RBHA requirements
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze the employment barriers of trainees

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direction and support to trainees in the Job Services Program.
  • Establishes rapport and communicates expectations to trainees, understanding the interests and capabilities of each trainee.
  • Modifies training sessions to match the ability of the trainee to achieve identified objectives on their Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Conducts trainee assessments including reviewing adaptive behaviors, transportation options, the trainee’s expressed willingness to work, and other relevant factors.
  • Assists with the review of trainees for competitive employment placements.
  • Maintains communications with Managers and Employment Service Supervisor (ESS) regarding program and facility operations.
  • Conducts job coaching off premises, as appropriate.
  • Ensures Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA), local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policies are met.
  • Participate in scheduling; trainees to ensure appropriate staffing at all times.  
  • Handles customer concerns in a quick, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Intervenes during crisis situations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assists with the flow of business and provides coverage when the front desk staff are not available.
  • Acts as a willing and efficient liaison between MHC behavioral health and other behavioral health agencies.
  • Interact effectively with community members and other agency personnel to promote trust, productivity and growth.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, client staffing, case reviews, staff development, policy and procedure development. 
  • Maintains general behavioral health standards and keeps abreast of State and RBHA guidelines by reading and attending in-services and workshops as appropriate and indicated in staff development plan.
  • Uses Appropriate incident reporting procedures when documenting unsafe or problematic incidents involving trainees.
