Front Desk Receptionist-Scheduler

Responsibilities:Â
- Front Desk Receptionist responsibilities includes welcoming patients, checking them into Practice Management System, and collecting co-pays.
- Completes patient check-out including scheduling future appointments.
- Obtains pertinent patient data, pre-certifications and insurance authorization to schedule imaging studies, diagnostic tests or outside referrals.
- Coordinates scheduling of tests/procedures with patients and informs patients of special instructions prior to appointment/procedure.
- This position requires working across two Oro Valley locations, with days assigned based on the needs of the practice.
- Documents in the EHR where patients are sent for outside tests etc. to ensure clear direction for the medical records department to obtain results.
- Manages providers’ schedules and work with site manager/coordinator to resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Performs other duties as assigned that facilitate efficient patient workflow and timely patient care.
- Position will be based in Oro Valley.
Qualifications:Â Â
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of front desk and scheduling experience in a busy medical clinic, preferably hematology oncology clinic
- Familiar with medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a stressful environment while providing positive interactions with patients and outside entities. Â
